Nam Dinh, 22 June, 2025 – Nam Dinh capped off their triumphant 2024/25 V.League 1 campaign in style with a 1-0 win over Hong Linh Ha Tinh at a packed Thien Truong Stadium on the afternoon of June 22, delighting home fans with a final-day victory and a long-awaited trophy celebration.
With the championship already secured before the last round, coach Vu Hong Viet still fielded a near full-strength lineup, including key players such as Thanh Hao, Hong Duy, Van Cong, Mpande, Brenner, and Hoang Anh. The home side dominated from the outset, showing clear intent to end the season on a high.
The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Hoang Anh made a powerful solo run into the box and was brought down by a Ha Tinh defender, earning a penalty for Nam Dinh. Brazilian forward Brenner stepped up confidently and converted from the spot to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
With the advantage secured, Nam Dinh lowered the tempo for the rest of the first half. Ha Tinh created a few chances but failed to find a way past veteran goalkeeper Nguyen Manh.
The second half saw both teams slow down due to fatigue, resulting in fewer clear-cut opportunities. Despite some efforts from the visitors, Nam Dinh managed the game well and preserved their lead until the final whistle.
The 1-0 result sealed a perfect ending to a remarkable season for Nam Dinh, who finished top with 57 points after 26 matches. This marks their second consecutive V.League title, making them just the fourth club in league history to defend the championship, following in the footsteps of Long An, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, and Binh Duong.
Hanoi FC and Hanoi Police FC finished as runners-up and third place respectively, rounding out the podium.
At the opposite end of the table, Binh Dinh were relegated after finishing last with just 21 points, while SHB Da Nang, who placed 13th, will face V.League 2 runners-up Binh Phuoc in a promotion/relegation playoff match scheduled for June 27 at Thong Nhat Stadium.
With back-to-back titles and a growing fanbase, Nam Dinh have firmly established themselves among Vietnam’s elite clubs and will be looking to continue their dominance in the 2025/26 season.
