Hanoi, 10 July, 2025 – While clubs across the V.League 1 are making headlines with high-profile signings and aggressive squad upgrades for the 2025/2026 season, Dong A Thanh Hoa has opted for a silence—one that is becoming increasingly unsettling.
As of now, the Thanh Hoa-based club has been nearly invisible in the transfer market. No new signings have been announced, and there has been no indication of any squad reinforcement activity, despite the fact that the new season is only weeks away from kicking off.
What makes this silence more concerning is that it comes on the heels of a deeply disappointing second half of last season. Thanh Hoa earned just 8 points in 13 matches—matching the tally of Binh Dinh, the team that was relegated. The drop in form has exposed serious issues with squad depth and competitiveness.
In stark contrast, direct rivals such as Nam Dinh, Hanoi Police FC, The Cong Viettel, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, and even newly promoted Ninh Binh have been active in the transfer market, signing quality players and restructuring their squads for what is expected to be a fiercely competitive season.
This sharp disparity has left fans of Thanh Hoa increasingly anxious. Supporters had hoped for a major overhaul or at least a few impactful signings to revive the club that once battled at the top of the table. Instead, all that has surfaced so far is a troubling silence.
Is this simply a deliberate “wait-and-see” strategy to launch a late surprise? Or does it reflect deeper underlying issues—financial constraints, lack of direction, or internal challenges in staffing and planning? Whatever the reason, the lack of activity during this crucial transfer window is a clear warning sign for captain Ngoc Tan and his teammates.
If Thanh Hoa fails to make bold and timely moves in the coming days, the club may be heading into the 2025/2026 season unprepared, potentially facing a year of serious risk and disappointment—something no Thanh Hoa supporter would ever wish to see.
