Hanoi, 6 August, 2025 – On the evening of August 6, Vietnam U20 women’s team delivered a dominant performance to defeat Singapore 5-0, taking the top spot in Group B of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Playing at home and supported by passionate fans at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the young Vietnamese players entered the match with high spirits. The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Thuc Nghi capitalized on a defensive error by Singapore to score with a precise shot inside the box, giving Vietnam an early lead.
Early in the second half, the home side doubled the advantage as Y Za Luong skillfully dribbled past the defender before finishing into the far corner. Just two minutes later, Luu Hoang Van produced an excellent solo run and set up Thao Nguyen, who slotted the ball into an empty net to make it 3-0.
With the match under control, Vietnam continued to press but squandered several chances to extend the lead. In the closing minutes, Nguyen Thi Thuong and Ca Thi Phuong each found the net, sealing a convincing 5-0 victory.
Thanks to this emphatic win, Hoang Van and her teammates sit at the top of Group B after the opening round, taking a significant step toward qualification for the final tournament of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
