Referee appointed for the U23 Vietnam vs U23 South Korea match

Saudi Arabia, 22 January 2026 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has officially announced the referee team appointed to officiate the third-place playoff match of the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 between Vietnam U23 and South Korea U23. The match will kick off at 22:00 on January 23 at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The main referee for the match will be Abdullah Al Jamali of Kuwait. Born in 1991, Al Jamali became a FIFA referee in 2019 at the age of 28 and is regarded as one of the leading referees in the region. He will be assisted by Ali Jraq (Kuwait) and Nasser Salim Abdullah Ambusaidi (Oman) on the touchlines.

The fourth official will be Alexander George King of Australia, who recently took charge of the semi-final between Vietnam U23 and China U23. VAR duties will be handled by Obaid Khadim Mohammed of the UAE, with Sivakorn Pu-Udom of Thailand serving as the assistant VAR.

With extensive experience officiating matches in World Cup qualifiers, the Asian Cup, and the AFC Champions League, Abdullah Al Jamali is expected to ensure a fair and well-controlled contest.
