Hanoi, 29 January 2026 – Two Malaysian FIFA referees, Mohamad Kamil Zakaria Bin Ismail and Razlan Joffri Bin Ali, have been appointed to officiate the headline match of Round 12 of V.League 1 2025–2026 between Hanoi Police FC and Ninh Binh. The match will kick off at 19:15 on February 1.
Referee Razlan Joffri Bin Ali, born in 1985, is a familiar name in V.League 1 in recent seasons. He is regularly assigned to high-pressure matches that directly affect the title race or relegation battle. In the 2023–2024 season, he officiated the match in which Quang Nam defeated Song Lam Nghe An 4–2 in Round 24. In the 2024–2025 season, he took charge of the SHB Da Nang vs Song Lam Nghe An match in Round 26 at Tam Ky Stadium, and also served as VAR referee in the Hanoi FC vs Thep Xanh Nam Dinh match in Round 21.
Working alongside him in the upcoming fixture will be Mohamad Kamil Zakaria Bin Ismail, born in 1995. This Malaysian referee is also no stranger to V.League 1, having previously officiated the Binh Dinh FC vs Hanoi FC match in Round 26 and the Hanoi FC vs Nam Dinh match in Round 21 of the 2024–2025 season.
The clash between Hanoi Police FC and Ninh Binh is considered one of the most anticipated matches of Round 12. Both teams remain unbeaten since the start of the season: Hanoi Police FC have 26 points (8 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses), while Ninh Binh lead with 27 points (8 wins, 3 draws, 0 losses). Although Hanoi Police FC currently sit second, one point behind, they have played one match fewer and could overtake their opponents if they avoid defeat. Ninh Binh, despite being newcomers, have impressed with a record unbeaten run stretching back to the 2024–2025 First Division season. With quality players across all three lines, tactical stability, and the guidance of two highly regarded foreign coaches (Polking and Albadalejo), this is expected to be a balanced contest with an unpredictable outcome.
A notable detail is that coach Polking of Hanoi Police FC will be absent from the technical area after receiving three yellow cards. The Brazilian coach will have to watch from the stands and direct the team remotely.
