Hanoi, 4 February 2026 – On the evening of February 4, Hanoi Police FC delivered a dominant 6-1 victory over Tampines Rovers FC in the ASEAN Club Championship 2025/26 at Hang Day Stadium.
Although the result no longer affected the standings, the attacking display allowed the Vietnamese side to bow out of the tournament in style. Notably, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac was named on the bench for the second straight match since returning from the AFC U23 Asian Cup, yet Hanoi Police FC still showcased impressive depth and firepower.
Despite already being eliminated, the hosts pushed forward aggressively from the opening whistle. However, they were stunned in the 13th minute when Tampines Rovers capitalized on a swift counterattack, allowing Trent Buhagiar to tap in the opener.
The early setback did not shake Hanoi Police FC’s confidence. Just two minutes later, from a corner kick, center-back Hugo Gomes rose high to power home a header and level the score at 1-1. From that moment on, the match belonged almost entirely to the home side, who constantly threatened down both flanks.
In the 28th minute, Phan Van Duc produced an excellent individual run on the right wing before cutting the ball back for Le Van Do to finish neatly and make it 2-1. Five minutes later, a similar move unfolded as Minh Phuc delivered a precise cross for Van Duc to score, giving Hanoi Police FC a comfortable two-goal lead at halftime.
After the break, the hosts briefly lost momentum and allowed Tampines Rovers to apply pressure. In the 53rd minute, the visitors nearly pulled one back when their shot struck the post. Goalkeeper Thanh Vinh was then forced into several saves as Hanoi Police FC’s defense showed signs of lapses in concentration.
But just as the game seemed to become unpredictable, the Vietnamese side struck decisively. In the 74th minute, Leo Artur threaded a sharp through ball to Vitao, who calmly finished to make it 4-1, effectively ending the contest.
Ten minutes later, Alan powered in a header from another Leo Artur corner. In the 90th minute, the Brazilian striker completed his brace with a clinical near-post finish, sealing a commanding 6-1 scoreline.
The emphatic win helped Hanoi Police FC conclude their Shopee Cup journey on a positive note, easing the disappointment of an early exit and reaffirming their determination to chase bigger goals in the remainder of the season.
