Phong Phu Ha Nam crowned U19 women’s national champions 2026

Ninh Binh, 5 February 2026 – Although they needed only one point to mathematically clinch the trophy, Phong Phu Ha Nam showed no intention of settling for a draw. Head coach Tran Le Thuy fielded an attack-minded lineup, signaling her team’s determination to finish the job in style. The tactical decision paid off immediately as the defending side controlled possession and dictated the tempo from the opening minutes.

Their early dominance translated into the breakthrough goal. Ngan Thi Thanh Hieu scored from close range after a well-worked assist by Le Hong Yeu, giving Phong Phu Ha Nam a deserved lead.

Trailing behind, Thai Nguyen T&T pushed their lines forward in search of an equalizer. However, they struggled to penetrate Ha Nam’s disciplined and compact defense. Just when it seemed the first half would end in the hosts’ favor, Thai Nguyen T&T found a moment of inspiration. In the 36th minute, Deo Ky Chun latched onto a through ball and calmly slotted a low diagonal finish past the goalkeeper to level the score at 1-1.

After the break, Phong Phu Ha Nam regained control. The introduction of midfielder Y Za Luong strengthened the midfield, helping the team win more duels and maintain pressure. Their persistence was finally rewarded late in the match. In the 83rd minute, Y Za Luong delivered a precise pass into the box for Luu Hoang Van, who finished clinically to restore the lead and seal a 2-1 victory.

The win officially crowned Phong Phu Ha Nam champions with 20 points from eight matches, maintaining an unbeaten record throughout the tournament — a clear demonstration of consistency and resilience.

In another match later the same day, Ho Chi Minh City U19 Women’s FC comfortably defeated Than Khoang San Viet Nam U19 Women’s FC 3-0 to strengthen their hold on second place. The result ensured they would finish as runners-up ahead of the final round on February 7 at Ha Nam Stadium.

For Phong Phu Ha Nam, the early title is a fitting reward for their attacking football and unbeaten campaign, confirming their status as the dominant force in Vietnamese women’s youth football this season.
