Hanoi,18 March 2026 – Center-back Le Nguyen Hoang, one of the most experienced players in the current U23 Vietnam squad, has spoken highly of Croatian-Vietnamese talent Antonio Moric.
On the afternoon of March 18 in Hanoi, U23 Vietnam continued their training camp in preparation for the CFA Team China – Xi’an 2026 International Tournament. Speaking to the media before the session, Le Nguyen Hoang shared insights on the team’s integration process as well as their preparations for the upcoming competition.
The Song Lam Nghe An defender praised Moric, who was recently promoted from U19 Vietnam to train with the U23 squad: “After two training sessions, I can see that Moric has solid technique and a good technical foundation. I hope he will quickly adapt to the national team environment and showcase his abilities in the near future.”
Le Nguyen Hoang also emphasized his own determination to build on the experience gained from youth competitions: “Playing regularly has helped me grow a lot. I will try to apply what I’ve learned to perform well in this training camp and the upcoming tournament.”
Reflecting on the early days of the camp, he admitted the squad is still in the process of adjusting: “After the first session, the players are still getting used to each other. The whole team is gradually adapting to the coaching staff’s requirements and training methods.”
Regarding preparations, Le Nguyen Hoang revealed that the coaching staff have already conducted initial analyses of their opponents. With all teams considered strong, the squad understands the need to perform well and gain valuable experience from the tournament.
Born in 2005, Le Nguyen Hoang is regarded as one of Vietnam’s most promising young center-backs. He was part of the U23 Vietnam squad at the 2024 AFC U23 Asian Cup at just 19 years old, impressing with his composure, game reading, and strong success rate in duels.
In the March 18 training session, coach Dinh Hong Vinh still did not have a full squad available, as six players were involved in the National Cup quarter-finals and are expected to join after March 21. Despite this, the coaching staff maintained training intensity and fostered a competitive environment within the team.
According to the plan, U23 Vietnam will continue training in Hanoi before finalizing the squad and traveling to China for the CFA Team China – Xi’an 2026 tournament, scheduled from March 25 to 31, featuring U23 China, U23 Thailand, and U23 DPR Korea.
