U17 Vietnam are ready to begin their journey to conquer the Southeast Asian championship

Hanoi, 3 April 2026 – As part of their preparation plan for the 2026 AFF U17 Championship, the Vietnam U17 national team has officially regrouped and resumed training from April 1 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. This marks an important phase as the team builds toward key regional and continental objectives in 2026.

In this training camp, coach Cristiano Roland continues to place strong trust in the core group of players who delivered outstanding performances during the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup qualification. The young Vietnamese side showcased impressive form by winning all five matches, scoring a remarkable 30 goals while keeping a clean sheet throughout the campaign. That dominant run secured them the top spot in Group C and a well-deserved place at the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup.

In addition to maintaining a stable core, the squad also sees the return of several notable players such as Dau Quang Hung, Nguyen Le Quang Khoi, and Tran Ngoc Son. Quang Hung brings valuable experience from the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup finals, while Ngoc Son and Quang Khoi have gained international exposure through their participation in the CFA Team China U16 International Tournament 2025. Their presence is expected to enhance both quality and competitiveness within the squad.

Furthermore, the coaching staff has introduced new faces including Vu Duc Huy from Hanoi Police FC, Phung Quang Danh of The Cong Viettel, and Ta Dinh Phong from Da Nang. These additions are aimed at increasing squad depth and creating healthy competition for places. With a balanced mix of experience and emerging talent, Vietnam U17 is shaping up as a strong contender as they gear up for a busy and ambitious 2026 campaign.
