Hanoi, 4 April 2026 – Forward Nguyen Dinh Bac scored twice as Hanoi Police FC cruised to a dominant 5–1 victory over SHB Da Nang in Round 17 of V.League 1 on April 4.
The hosts took control early and extended their lead to 3–0 in the 30th minute. From a turnover in their own half, Nguyen Quang Hai delivered a long pass behind Da Nang’s high defensive line. Dinh Bac sprinted through, rounded goalkeeper Nguyen Van Toan—who had rushed off his line—and calmly finished into an empty net.
This was the 2004-born striker’s first goal of the 2025–2026 V.League 1 season, ending a long drought since his last league goal in November 2024.
In the 70th minute, another defensive error from Da Nang allowed Leo Artur to slip a through ball to Dinh Bac, who made no mistake in a one-on-one situation, firing into the bottom-left corner to complete his brace. He celebrated with a spinning jump reminiscent of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Earlier, Dinh Bac had missed the rescheduled Round 13 clash—also against Da Nang—due to suspension from accumulated yellow cards. He was also absent from the national team after serving a two-match ban following a red card in the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup third-place match against South Korea. During that period, he took time off to travel with his family to Phu Quoc, a decision supported by coach Mano Polking to help him regain mental freshness.
Despite showing strong form for Vietnam’s national and U23 teams—scoring 10 goals in 18 matches since 2025—Dinh Bac had struggled to replicate that impact at club level, managing just five goals in 28 appearances across all competitions this season.
Hanoi Police FC had already taken a 2–0 lead thanks to a first-half brace from Stefan Mauk in the 7th and 24th minutes. Vu Van Son briefly pulled one back for Da Nang, but Le Van Do sealed the emphatic 5–1 win in the 83rd minute.
The victory strengthens Hanoi Police FC’s position at the top of the table with 44 points, 10 clear of second-placed The Cong Viettel, despite having played one more match. Meanwhile, Da Nang remain 13th with 12 points, only narrowly ahead of bottom-placed PVF-CAND on goal difference.
The only concern for the hosts came late in the match when Nguyen Quang Hai suffered an injury after a foul from Que Ngoc Hai. The midfielder appeared in pain and had to be stretchered off, casting a shadow over an otherwise convincing performance.
