Former Everton player joins reigning V.League 1 champions

Hanoi, 13 July 2026 – Reigning V.League 1 champions Cong An Ha Noi FC (CAHN) have strengthened their squad once again after officially unveiling David Henen as their latest signing. The Togolese forward becomes the club’s third new addition of the transfer window as preparations continue for an ambitious 2026/27 campaign.

Standing 1.85 meters tall and known for his athleticism and physical presence, Henen is expected to add another dimension to CAHN’s attacking unit. Club officials believe his arrival will enhance the team’s offensive options as they look to defend the V.League title while challenging for success in continental competitions.

Although he represents Togo internationally, Henen was born in Belgium in 1996 and was once regarded as one of Europe’s promising young prospects. Between 2015 and 2018, he was part of Everton’s youth setup, while also gaining valuable experience during spells with Grenoble in France and KV Kortrijk in Belgium.

While he was unable to establish himself at the highest level in Europe, Henen continued his professional career with Tobol in Kazakhstan before making the move to Vietnamese football.

The 30-year-old is already familiar with the V.League 1 after representing SHB Da Nang during the 2024/25 season, where he scored three goals in 21 appearances. Although his goal return was modest, Henen impressed with his pace, strength, and ability to adapt quickly to Vietnamese football. According to Transfermarkt, he currently has an estimated market value of €250,000.

Henen’s arrival follows several other important moves by Cong An Ha Noi FC this summer. Alongside renewing contracts with a number of key players, the club has also signed Damià Sabater and goalkeeper Y Eli Nie, further strengthening the squad ahead of a season in which they will compete on multiple fronts.
