Vietnam win silver in demonstration event at 2026 World Taekwondo Demonstration & Breaking Championships

South Korea, 13 July 2026 – Vietnam’s taekwondo demonstration team, led by Chau Tuyet Van, captured a silver medal at the 2026 World Taekwondo Demonstration & Breaking Championships, finishing behind host nation South Korea.

The competition took place on July 13 in Chuncheon, South Korea, as part of the 2026 Gangwon-Chuncheon World Taekwondo Culture Festival.

A total of 31 athletes from Colombia, Finland, South Korea, Pakistan, and Vietnam competed across the championship’s demonstration and breaking events.

Athletes contested medals in both technical demonstration and various breaking disciplines, including men’s and women’s flying consecutive kicks, vertical spinning kicks, and freestyle breaking.

Vietnam entered only the technical demonstration category, where each team consisted of seven members, including at least two men and two women. Teams performed a five-minute routine combining traditional taekwondo techniques with choreography, acrobatics, synchronized movements, and target-breaking skills.

With an impressive and well-executed performance, Chau Tuyet Van and her teammates secured the silver medal, finishing second only to the powerful South Korean team on home soil.

Meanwhile, the host nation dominated the individual breaking events, with South Korean athletes claiming all of the gold medals in those disciplines.
