Hung Yen, 14 July 2026 – The 2026 Vietnam National U21 Championship continued at PVF Training Center on July 14, with four matches taking place across Groups A and B.
The standout fixture of the day saw The Cong Viettel claim an impressive 3-1 victory over Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) in Group B.
HAGL made the brighter start and created several promising opportunities through V.League-experienced duo Gia Bao and Minh Tam. Both players repeatedly threatened The Cong Viettel’s goal, but poor finishing denied the Mountain City side an early breakthrough. Gia Bao, in particular, squandered two excellent chances during the opening half hour.
Despite spending much of the first half under pressure, The Cong Viettel struck first in the 27th minute. Hoang Khanh fired a powerful effort from around 19 meters into the far corner to put his side ahead.
The opening goal lifted The Cong Viettel’s confidence, and they doubled their advantage just before halftime. In the 42nd minute, Cong Phuong burst down the right flank before delivering a precise cross for Huu Tuan, who finished from close range to make it 2-0.
HAGL came out aggressively after the restart in search of a comeback. Minh Tam headed over the crossbar in the 52nd minute following a cross from Gia Bao, before Gia Bao himself pulled one back five minutes later with a deflected effort.
However, The Cong Viettel quickly restored control of the match. In the 63rd minute, Cong Phuong registered his second assist of the afternoon, setting up Cong Hau to score and seal a 3-1 victory.

Elsewhere in Group B, Song Lam Nghe An defeated Tay Ninh 2-0 thanks to goals from Pham Van Nam and Nguyen Tan Minh. The win gives Song Lam Nghe An an advantage heading into their decisive final group-stage meeting with Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
In Group A, Hanoi FC produced the biggest win of the day by cruising to a 6-0 victory over An Giang.
Meanwhile, hosts PVF-CAND secured a dramatic 2-1 triumph against Ho Chi Minh City. Ba Dat opened the scoring as early as the seventh minute, but Ho Chi Minh City equalized before halftime. Just when the match appeared destined for a draw, Ba Dat struck again in the 89th minute, completing his brace and handing PVF-CAND all three points.
