Hanoi, 20 July 2026 – Just days after their friendly against Myanmar, the Vietnam national team has travelled to Thailand as preparations intensify for their opening match of the ASEAN Championship 2026.
Vietnam have been making thorough preparations for their title defence at the regional tournament. After gathering for a training camp at home, head coach Kim Sang Sik and his players travelled to South Korea for an overseas training camp, where the team produced a series of encouraging performances.
Following positive results in training matches against South Korean clubs, Vietnam continued their preparations with an impressive victory over Myanmar in a friendly on July 18. The result provided an important morale boost for Kim Sang Sik’s squad ahead of the start of their competitive campaign.

On July 20, the Vietnam national team departed for Chonburi, Thailand, where they will prepare for their opening match of the ASEAN Championship 2026. The team took a flight from Hanoi at 12:45 p.m. and landed in Bangkok at 2:45 p.m. local time on the same day.
From Bangkok, the squad will continue their journey by bus to Chonburi, the venue for their opening fixture against Timor-Leste. The match between Vietnam and Timor-Leste is scheduled to take place on July 24.

Meanwhile, fans can now purchase tickets for Vietnam’s two home matches during the group stage of the ASEAN Championship 2026. Tickets for both fixtures are available in four price categories: VND 200,000, VND 300,000, VND 400,000, and VND 500,000.
Supporters can purchase tickets online through the OneU application. Tickets for Vietnam’s match against Singapore went on sale at 10:00 a.m. on July 17 and will remain available until 11:59 p.m. on July 25, 2026, or until sold out, whichever comes first.
Tickets for the home fixture against Cambodia went on sale at 10:00 a.m. on July 20 and will be available until 11:59 p.m. on July 29, 2026, or until all tickets have been sold.
