Taiwan, 1 August 2026 – Vietnam’s top women’s singles player Nguyen Thuy Linh produced another impressive performance to book her place in the final of the Taipei Open 2026, continuing her excellent run of form on the BWF World Tour.
The Vietnamese star faced third seed Unnati Hooda of India in the semifinal on August 1 and delivered a composed display to secure a straight-games victory.
From the opening rally, Thuy Linh dictated the pace of the match with her precise shot placement and intelligent court coverage. She repeatedly forced Hooda to chase deep corners, wearing down her opponent while maintaining remarkable consistency throughout the contest.
Her tactical discipline paid off as she claimed a convincing 21-15, 21-18 victory, advancing to the championship match without dropping a game.
In the final, the sixth-seeded Vietnamese shuttler will face another Indian opponent, Tanvi Sharma, in what promises to be an exciting battle for the title.
The tournament marks a significant milestone for Thuy Linh, as it is her first international final of 2026. Taipei Open is a BWF World Tour Super 300 event, and throughout her career, the 27-year-old has yet to win a title at this level.
A victory in the final would not only earn her the biggest title of her career but also provide a valuable boost to her position in the BWF World Rankings, where she currently sits 25th in the world.
The championship match is scheduled for August 2.
Following the tournament in Taipei, Thuy Linh will continue her international campaign at the 2026 Korea Masters, where she will be joined by fellow Vietnamese shuttlers Vu Thi Trang, Nguyen Dinh Hoang, Tran Dinh Manh, and Nguyen Hai Dang.
