Bac Ninh, 14 August 2026 – Bac Ninh FC are continuing to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the club completing the signing of Canadian-Vietnamese midfielder Pierre Lamothe, who previously played for Hanoi FC.
Born on September 18, 1997, Lamothe has a Canadian father and Vietnamese mother. Before moving to Vietnam, the midfielder spent several years playing professionally in Canada, representing clubs including FC Montréal, HFX Wanderers and Pacific FC. He was also previously called up to the Canada U20 national team.
Lamothe began his career in Vietnamese football during the 2023/24 season. Since arriving in the country, he has represented Quang Nam, Hanoi FC and Da Nang, gaining valuable experience and familiarity with the demands of Vietnamese football.
During his time in the V.League, Lamothe has made 28 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists. While his attacking statistics may not immediately stand out, the Canadian-Vietnamese midfielder has developed a strong understanding of the domestic game and brings professional experience from both Canada and Vietnam.
His arrival is expected to provide Bac Ninh FC with additional options and greater depth in midfield. Having already experienced V.League 1 football, the 28-year-old should require less time to adapt than a player arriving in Vietnam for the first time.
Lamothe’s signing is also another indication of Bac Ninh FC’s ambition as they continue building their squad for the new campaign. The club have been actively recruiting experienced players in an effort to establish a strong foundation and compete for ambitious targets in the 2026/27 V.League 1 season.
With further reinforcements being added across the squad, Bac Ninh FC are gradually assembling a team capable of making their mark in the top flight, with Lamothe now the latest addition to their increasingly competitive roster.
