Vietnam women’s national team completed their final preparations on September 13 ahead of their opening match against Chinese Taipei in the women’s football tournament at ASIAD 2026.
Head coach Hoang Van Phuc and his players held their final training session on Saturday afternoon, with the squad working in a focused and positive atmosphere ahead of their first competitive test in Japan.
During the session, Hoang Van Phuc and his coaching staff concentrated on reviewing and fine-tuning tactical plans while improving coordination between different areas of the team.
The final workout also provided an opportunity for the players to sharpen their overall approach, maintain concentration and ensure they are physically and mentally ready for the opening fixture.
Following the training session, the Vietnam squad visited the Shizuoka Ecopa Stadium complex to familiarize themselves with the venue and playing surface ahead of the match against Chinese Taipei.
The walkaround allowed the players to get a better understanding of the surroundings, pitch conditions and overall match environment before taking to the field for their ASIAD 2026 opener.
Earlier on September 13, team leader Bui Thi Hien Luong and members of the coaching staff attended the pre-tournament technical meeting alongside representatives of the organizers and Vietnam’s group-stage opponents.
During the meeting, teams were briefed on organizational matters, competition regulations and other technical requirements for the women’s football tournament.
Vietnam will begin their ASIAD 2026 campaign against Chinese Taipei at 2 p.m. Vietnam time on September 14.
The match will mark the start of Hoang Van Phuc’s side’s Asian Games journey as Vietnam look to make a positive opening to their campaign in Japan.
