Hanoi, 4 Oct 2026 – Vietnam have finalised their 23-player squad for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers, with head coach Okiyama Masahiko’s side set to compete in Group D on home soil from October 5 to 11.
The final squad consists of three goalkeepers and 20 outfield players selected following an extended period of training and assessment by the coaching staff. The players have been monitored through domestic training sessions and friendly matches, with their performances during Vietnam’s training camp in Japan from September 10 to 20 also playing an important role in the selection process.
The Japan camp formed a key part of Vietnam’s preparations for the continental qualifiers, providing the young players with opportunities to train in a different environment, play competitive friendly matches and gain valuable international experience. It also allowed Okiyama and his coaching staff to assess the squad more closely, make tactical adjustments and address areas requiring improvement before finalising the 23-player roster.

Following their return to Vietnam, the team continued training before travelling to Ho Chi Minh City on September 28. Arriving well ahead of the tournament has given the players additional time to adapt to the local weather and daily routine while also familiarising themselves with the competition venue at Ba Ria Stadium.
Vietnam have been drawn in Group D alongside Kyrgyz Republic, Northern Mariana Islands and Palestine, with the group-stage matches scheduled to take place from October 5 to 11 at Ba Ria Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
After an extensive preparation period that included the overseas training camp in Japan, Vietnam U17 Women enter the qualifiers determined to make the most of their home advantage. Okiyama’s side will look to translate their preparations into strong performances as they pursue their objective of progressing to the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup 2027.
