Hanoi, 10 July 2026 – Round 5 of the 2026 Vietnam Women’s National Football Championship delivered plenty of drama on July 10, with Hanoi I and Thai Nguyen T&T sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw, while Than KSVN celebrated their first victory of the campaign with a 2-1 win over Ho Chi Minh City II.
The clash between Hanoi I and Thai Nguyen T&T at Ha Dong Stadium was widely viewed as one of the most significant fixtures of the round, as both sides entered the match with ambitions of challenging Ho Chi Minh City I for the league title. A victory would have provided a crucial advantage in the championship race.
However, heavy rain made playing conditions extremely difficult and disrupted both teams’ attacking rhythm. The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute when a waterlogged patch on the pitch stopped a Hanoi I pass, allowing Le Thi Trang to capitalize on the mistake and fire the home side into the lead.
Thai Nguyen T&T responded almost immediately. Just three minutes later, standing water inside Hanoi I’s penalty area worked in the visitors’ favor, creating an opening for Ngoc Minh Chuyen to slot home the equalizer.

The rain eased after halftime, enabling Hanoi I to enjoy more possession and control in front of their home supporters. Despite creating the better chances, the hosts failed to convert their opportunities, with wasteful finishing forcing them to settle for a 1-1 draw.
In the day’s other fixture, Than KSVN welcomed Ho Chi Minh City II to Cua Ong Stadium, hoping to end a disappointing start to the season after suffering defeats in their opening matches.
The hosts dominated from the outset against a less experienced opponent, creating numerous chances and striking the crossbar twice before halftime. Their persistence finally paid off in the second half as Than KSVN scored twice, while Ho Chi Minh City II managed only a single reply.
The match ended in a 2-1 victory for Than KSVN, earning the club its first three points of the 2026 campaign and providing a much-needed boost after a difficult opening to the season.
