Hanoi, 9 June, 2025 – On the morning of June 9, the official draw ceremony for the 2025 AFF Women’s Championship took place in Hanoi, setting the stage for a highly anticipated regional football tournament. This year’s edition will feature eight women’s national teams from Southeast Asia, including reigning champions the Philippines, as well as Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Timor Leste, and host nation Vietnam.
According to the draw results, the teams were divided into two groups of four and will play in a round-robin format. Matches are scheduled to be held at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) and Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong).
Host nation Vietnam was placed in Group A alongside fierce regional rivals Thailand, as well as Indonesia and Cambodia. The draw sets up an early blockbuster clash between Vietnam and Thailand, two of Southeast Asia’s traditional powerhouses in women’s football.

Group B is no less competitive, featuring defending champions the Philippines, along with strong contenders Myanmar, Australia, and Timor Leste.
The tournament is set to run from August 6 to August 19, 2025. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals on August 16, with the third-place match and the final scheduled for August 19.
With home advantage and passionate local support, Vietnam will aim to make a strong run in the tournament and reclaim regional glory, especially in what promises to be an electrifying group stage showdown against Thailand.
