Thep Xanh Nam Dinh’s record signing left out of V.League 1 – 25/26 squad

Ninh Binh, 12 August, 2025 – Nam Dinh’s most expensive foreign signing, Njabulo Blom, has been unexpectedly omitted from the club’s registered squad for the 2025/2026 V.League season.

Blom, who joined the reigning champions during the 2025 summer transfer window, was brought in to strengthen the team’s push across four competitions this season. Valued as the most expensive player in Nam Dinh’s squad and the second-most valuable in the entire league, his absence from the official roster submitted to the organizers has surprised many supporters of the Thien Truong Stadium side.

According to V.League regulations, clubs participating in AFC continental competitions can register up to seven foreign players. However, all other teams are limited to four foreign signings, with a maximum of three allowed on the pitch at any given time.

The rules also allow clubs to replace or add players up until 3:00 p.m. on the day of their first match in Round 3 of the 2025/2026 season. Each team can make a maximum of four changes in up to four separate replacement moves. This means Blom could still feature for Nam Dinh later in the campaign if the current foreign players fail to meet performance expectations.

Nam Dinh, who lifted their first-ever V.League title last season, recently suffered a 3-2 defeat to Hanoi Police FC in the National Super Cup. Coach Vu Hong Viet’s side will begin their title defense against Hai Phong FC before facing Song Lam Nghe An in Round 2.

Blom’s omission will be closely watched in the coming weeks, as his potential return to the squad could significantly impact Nam Dinh’s ambitions in both domestic and regional competitions.
