Vietnam national team have officially arrived in the capital city of Vientiane to begin their final preparations for the return-leg match against Laos in the Asian Cup 2027 qualifying campaign. As previously reported, the team departed at 9:35 on 15 November and reached the neighbouring country safely in the early afternoon.
Sharing his thoughts shortly after arrival, team captain Do Duy Manh highlighted the positive atmosphere inside the squad despite a demanding V.League 1 schedule leading up to the international break. He emphasised the importance of proper recovery and tactical adjustments implemented by the coaching staff under Coach Kim Sang Sik, ensuring players reach the ideal performance level for the upcoming match.

“The atmosphere within the team is very good right now. We have just gone through an intense period in V.League 1, but the coaches have made the right adjustments so everyone can hit peak form for the match against Laos. The whole team is highly focused and ready for what lies ahead,” Duy Manh shared.
When asked about expectations of a convincing victory similar to the first leg, the centre-back remained cautious but confident. “You can never predict anything before the ball rolls, but Vietnam always enter the pitch aiming for three points. Everyone trains hard and strictly follows the tactical instructions from the coach. Whoever is given a chance will try to deliver their best. And of course, if we earn a big win, it will be a joy for the team and especially for our supporters.”
According to the schedule, Vietnam will have four full training days in Vientiane before facing the home side on 19 November. In the first leg at Binh Duong Stadium, Vietnam earned a comfortable 5-0 victory, giving Coach Kim Sang Sik’s team a strong psychological advantage heading into the return meeting.
With the team now settled and fully focused, Vietnam aim to maintain their form, secure another key result, and take a significant step toward qualification for the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
