Hanoi FC on the Verge of Signing Japanese Coach Daiki Iwamasa

In a significant development, Hanoi Football Club is nearing the completion of negotiations with Japanese coach Daiki Iwamasa, a former national player, to take the helm of the prestigious Vietnamese club.

Daiki Iwamasa, who has previously guided Kashima Antlers for two years, is well-known for his innovative and modern coaching style. Under his leadership, Kashima Antlers finished in the 4th and 5th positions in the J.League in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, respectively. His approach is characterized by an open-mindedness and a youthful, fresh perspective, blended with the rigorous discipline characteristic of Japanese coaching methods.

This potential appointment comes at a time when Hanoi FC is undergoing a significant rejuvenation of its team. At 41, Iwamasa represents a dynamic and progressive choice for the club. Club chairman, Mr. Do Vinh Quang, has expressed his belief that the philosophies and strategies of Korean and European coaches previously considered did not align well with Hanoi FC’s vision. Thus, the leadership decisively shifted their focus towards a Japanese coach, hoping that this move will prove to be the most suitable solution for the club’s current needs.

Negotiations are reported to be in their final stages, with only one meeting remaining before the deal is finalized. It is anticipated that Daiki Iwamasa will officially sign his contract with Hanoi FC on January 13th and immediately commence his duties.

This strategic move by Hanoi FC signifies a fresh direction for the club, aiming to blend the youthful energy of its players with the disciplined, modern approach of Iwamasa’s coaching philosophy. The club’s management and fans alike are optimistic that this new partnership will herald a successful era for Hanoi FC.
