The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has recently unveiled its comprehensive schedule for the Vietnam national futsal team, highlighting an exciting lineup of competitions set to take place throughout the early part of the year.
The schedule kicks off with a prominent international futsal event slated for the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh at the conclusion of March. This event is not just a showcase of talent but also a strategic move to ramp up the team’s preparation and cohesion.
Following this, the team is set to engage in two pivotal international friendlies in April. These matches are crucial for fine-tuning tactics and building team morale ahead of the much-anticipated 2024 Asian Futsal Championship in Thailand. Such friendlies are instrumental in providing real-match scenarios that help in identifying areas of strength and improvement.
In an effort to ensure the team is in peak condition for the Asian Championship and the subsequent Futsal World Cup qualifiers, the VFF has proactively organized the 2024 National Futsal League to commence at the start of the year. This strategic scheduling serves a dual purpose: it not only keeps the players in competitive shape but also grants Coach Giustozzi a valuable opportunity to assess the players’ form and fitness levels well in advance of the international competitions.
The tournament in late March, featuring formidable teams from Iran, Morocco, and New Zealand, is expected to be a challenging test for the Vietnam team. Such high-caliber competition provides an excellent platform for the players to gain experience against some of the world’s best, testing their tactics and resilience under pressure.
Additionally, the friendly matches against the Kuwait national team in April are seen as the final step in the team’s preparation journey. These games are pivotal for finalizing strategies and squad selection before heading to Thailand.
Looking ahead to the Asian Championship, the Vietnam team is grouped with heavyweights such as Thailand (the host country), China, and Myanmar. With ambitions of securing one of the top two spots in their group, the Vietnam team is focused on advancing to the quarterfinals. Their ultimate aim is to reach the top four, thereby earning a coveted spot in the 2024 Futsal World Cup, marking a significant milestone in the development of futsal in Vietnam. This comprehensive preparation plan underscores the VFF’s commitment to the team’s success on the international stage.
