In a training session today, March 15, Vietnam’s head coach Philippe Troussier organized the Vietnam national and U23 teams into two groups for separate training schedules. The players started to get acquainted with the Specs match ball, which will be used in the away game against Indonesia on March 21.
The afternoon training session mainly involved players from Hanoi Police FC, The Cong Viettel, and Thep Xanh Nam Dinh clubs, who had just finished their National Cup matches on March 13. This group training was organized to match the training plan. Notably, Bui Hoang Viet Anh participated in this session. The defender, who had stitches removed from a lip injury earlier in the day, had stabilized. However, he still used a protective patch to prevent risks during contact.
During the same session, players began practicing with the Specs match ball, chosen by Indonesia for the upcoming away game on March 21. The Specs balls were directly transported from Indonesia by the Vietnam Football Federation’s advance team to support Coach Troussier and his squad.
Tonight, the rest of the players will train at 8:30 PM, which is the scheduled match time for the game at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. This strategic scheduling aims to acclimate the team to the conditions expected during the critical upcoming match, underscoring the meticulous preparation by the coaching staff and players alike.
