In the latest FIFA rankings for women’s football announced on the afternoon of March 15, the Vietnam women’s national football team continues to lead Southeast Asia.
On the afternoon of March 15, FIFA released the latest rankings for women’s national football teams worldwide. Accordingly, the Vietnam women’s national team maintains its position as the 37th in the world and number one in Southeast Asia with 1611.3 points.
The Philippines women’s national team, after a European tour last month with three losses, dropped to 39th with only 1558.3 points, 53 points behind the Vietnam women’s national team. The following positions in the Southeast Asian region are Thailand (ranked 47th), Myanmar (ranked 54th), and Laos (ranked 93rd).
In the Asian context, the Vietnam women’s national team is ranked 6th after Japan (ranked 7th in the world), North Korea (ranked 11th), Australia (ranked 12th), China (ranked 19th), and South Korea (ranked 20th).
At the top of the world rankings, there have been quite a few changes following the Olympic qualifying matches in February 2024. The England women’s national team moved up two places to 2nd in the world, pushing the USA women’s national team down to 4th. Spain leads the rankings, followed by France in 3rd and Germany in 5th.
The next FIFA rankings for women’s national teams will be announced on June 14, 2024.
