Before the Vietnam national team’s departure to Indonesia for their match on March 21 in the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Coach Philippe Troussier has motivated his players, calling them warriors ready for battle.
The goal for the Vietnam national team in this round of the World Cup 2026 qualifiers in Asia is to secure a spot in the third qualifying round. Thus, on the eve of their departure to Indonesia, the French coach offered encouragement to his players.
Coach Troussier emphasized, “Victory also means realizing the goal of advancing further in the Asian competition. However, achieving this goal is not easy. The players are warriors, constantly striving every day, proving themselves in every training session with the aim of victory, not just in words.”
Under the regulations, Coach Troussier will have to exclude 5 players from the 33 initially called up. He affirmed that all 33 players deserve a spot in the upcoming matches.
He added, “Whether the players are excluded or included in the final list, all are part of a solid, unified team. We represent our national pride, our flag, and our uniform, but we also play smart on the field.”
