This morning at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Tran Anh Tu, and the General Secretary, Duong Nghiep Khoi, met with the Vietnam U16 Women’s National Team to boost their morale before they head to Turkey for a friendly tournament organized by UEFA.
On behalf of the VFF’s Executive Committee, Vice President Tran Anh Tu conveyed words of encouragement to the players, urging the U16 Women’s Vietnam team to compete with the highest determination and effort against the upcoming strong opponents. General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi also provided essential advice for the competition and motivated the team and Coach Akira Ijiri to strive for their best.
In response to the VFF leaders’ support, the Vietnam U16 Women’s team affirmed their resolve to excel in the forthcoming tournament.
The team is scheduled to depart for Turkey at 1:30 AM tomorrow (April 9). The UEFA-organized tournament aims to offer a platform for players from various countries and continents to engage and compete, enhancing international footballing experience. The Vietnam U16 Women’s team finds itself in Group A alongside U16 teams from Botswana, the USA, and host Turkey. Group B features teams from China, Paraguay, Uganda, and Wales.
In preparation for this significant event, Coach Akira Ijiri and his team have been training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center since March 19, dedicating three weeks to intensive preparations. This meticulous planning underscores the team’s commitment to showcasing their talent on an international stage and further developing women’s football in Vietnam.
As the Vietnam U16 Women’s team embarks on this exciting journey, their participation in the UEFA-organized tournament represents a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and competitive growth, promising to bring invaluable experience and exposure to the young athletes.
