Vietnam is certain to have two more spots in the 2024 Paris Olympics

As the countdown to the Paris 2024 Olympics continues, Vietnamese athletes are preparing for the final rounds of qualification tournaments across various sports. The upcoming events will be crucial in determining the nation’s representation at the prestigious international competition.

Boxing: Vietnamese boxers will compete in the second World Qualifying Tournament in Thailand from May 23 to June 5. This event represents their last chance to secure a place in the Olympics.

Archery: Vietnamese archers will participate in several critical competitions:

  • The Archery World Cup in South Korea from May 21-26, which focuses on accumulating team points.
  • The World Qualifying Tournament in Turkey from June 15-16, where athletes will compete for individual and team slots.
  • Another Archery World Cup event in Turkey from June 18-23, also aimed at gathering team points.

Athletics: Vietnam’s track and field athletes have a busy schedule with several key events:

  • The Asian Relay Championships in Thailand from May 20-21.
  • The Taiwan Open from June 1-2.
  • The Thailand Open from June 14-17.

Judo: Vietnamese judokas are set to compete in major tournaments:

  • Chu Duc Dat will participate in the World Championships in the UAE from May 19-24.
  • Hoang Thi Tinh is slated to compete in two significant events: the Tahiti Oceania Open from June 1-2 and the Lima Panamerican Open from June 21-22.

According to Vietnam Sports News analytics, it is anticipated that Vietnam will secure an additional three spots in archery and one in judo. Furthermore, Vietnamese sports authorities are confident of obtaining a wildcard entry in women’s swimming. In the event that athletics does not secure any official spots, another wildcard is expected in this discipline as well.

These final qualification rounds are of paramount importance for Vietnamese athletes, who have been training rigorously to make their mark on the global stage.
