FIFA announces U15 football festival for all member countries

At the 74th FIFA Congress held in Bangkok, Thailand, FIFA announced an exciting new initiative an U15 tournament open to all member countries. This tournament aims to be a festival of youth football, promoting the development of young players globally.

The tournament will feature a unique format, taking place at a single venue without any qualifying rounds. This inclusive approach allows all 211 FIFA member nations to send their U15 national teams to participate, ensuring that young talents from around the world have the opportunity to showcase their skills on an international stage.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted the importance of this new initiative in his address to the congress. “This U15 tournament is a celebration of youth football. It provides a platform for young players to experience international competition early in their careers and promotes the values of diversity and inclusion in our sport,” Infantino said.

FIFA’s football festival will be a beneficial playground for Vietnam’s U15 players.

The decision to hold the tournament at one venue simplifies logistics and creates a festival-like atmosphere, bringing together young athletes from diverse backgrounds. It aims to foster camaraderie and cultural exchange among the participants, alongside the competitive spirit of the game.

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from member associations worldwide. National federations are eager to participate, seeing it as a valuable opportunity to develop their youth programs and give their players international exposure.

This tournament aligns with FIFA’s broader goals of promoting football development at all levels and ensuring equal opportunities for players from all countries. It represents a significant step towards fostering global football talent and encouraging the next generation of players.

As preparations begin, FIFA will soon announce the venue and schedule for the inaugural U15 tournament. Member associations are expected to start assembling their squads, eagerly anticipating this groundbreaking event in youth football.
