Revealing Quang Hai’s destination in J League 1

According to Yahoo Japan, Vietnamese football star Nguyen Quang Hai is poised to join Consadole Sapporo. The news outlet believes that Quang Hai’s arrival promises to bring a fresh and dynamic element to the Hokkaido-based team, which has had a challenging first half of the season, currently sitting second from the bottom in the J.League 1 standings.

Behind Quang Hai’s move to the J.League is Yoshikazu Nonomura, a significant figure in Japanese football. Nonomura, who previously served as the president of Consadole Sapporo, was elected to this position in March 2013. Six months later, he made a memorable impact on Vietnamese fans by facilitating the loan of striker Le Cong Vinh to the club. Nonomura even arranged for singer Thuy Tien to accompany Cong Vinh to Japan, before they married a year later.

Before Quang Hai, Mr. Yoshikazu Nonomura also helped bring Cong Vinh to play in J.League 1 for Consadole Sapporo.

In 2022, Nonomura became the chairman of the Japanese professional leagues (J.League). His influence has been pivotal in aligning the J.League’s schedule with European leagues, transitioning from a single-year season to a two-year overlapping format.

Consadole Sapporo consulted Nonomura before making the move for Quang Hai. His advice and support were instrumental in bridging the connection between the club and the Vietnamese midfielder. If everything goes smoothly, Quang Hai will be eligible to play for Consadole Sapporo starting in September 2024.

Quang Hai’s potential transfer to Consadole Sapporo marks a significant step in his career and a boost for the club. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see how his skills will contribute to the team’s fortunes in the J.League. With Nonomura’s backing, this move symbolizes the growing ties between Japanese football and Vietnamese talent, promising exciting developments for both Quang Hai and Consadole Sapporo.
