Coach Polking grants special privileges to Quang Hai and Junior Janio

Hanoi Police FC officially became the former champions of V-League after being dethroned by Nam Dinh. Despite their impressive 5-0 victory over Hoang Anh Gia Lai in the 25th round, Hanoi Police FC could not break into the top three as they lagged behind Hanoi FC by five points.

For the 26th round of Night Wolf V.League 1 – 2023/2024, Hanoi Police FC will face Binh Dinh away from home. Ahead of this match, Hanoi Police FC announced that Coach Alexandre Polking has given special permission for Quang Hai and several key players to rest.

The official statement from Hanoi Police FC reads: “In the final match of the Night Wolf V.League 1 – 2023/2024, Hanoi Police FC will play against Binh Dinh away. However, since Hanoi Police FC has already met its objectives for this season and some players are showing signs of fatigue from frequent matches, the coaching staff has decided to make some changes to the squad for this game.

As a result, players Nguyen Quang Hai and Junior Janio have been allowed by Coach Polking to return home early to rest and recover their physical condition in preparation for the club’s upcoming goals, including the ASEAN Club Championship 2024/25. Additionally, goalkeeper Do Sy Huy, who sustained an injury during training before the last round, will also not travel with the team to Binh Dinh.”

By resting key players, Coach Polking is likely to field many substitutes in the match against Binh Dinh. This increases the chances for Binh Dinh to secure at least a point and thereby claim the runner-up position in the league.

Hanoi Police FC’s decision to rest Quang Hai, Junior Janio, and other key players underscores the importance of preserving their strength for future competitions. It also highlights the depth of the squad, providing an opportunity for other players to showcase their abilities in the final match of the season. Meanwhile, Binh Dinh will look to capitalize on this situation to secure their spot as the league’s runners-up.
