
The Vietnam women’s volleyball team, featuring its strongest lineup, is set to compete in the first leg of the Southeast Asian Volleyball League (SEA V.League) 2024, held from August 2 to 4 in Vĩnh Phúc. The tournament promises to be a highly competitive event, with participation from the top four teams in the region: Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and host Vietnam.
The first leg of the SEA V.League will showcase intense matches as all participating teams bring their best players. The Thai women’s volleyball team, ranked 14th in the world, is bringing star players like Thatdao and Chatchu-on, highlighting their strong intent to dominate the competition.
For the host team, Vietnam, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet has adjusted the squad following the Future Stars international friendly tournament in Shanghai, China. Key players such as Lam Oanh, Kieu Trinh, and Pham Thi Hien have been recalled to the national team. Additionally, star player Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, who has not yet moved to Turkey for her club commitments, will also participate. With a roster considered to be at full strength, Vietnam is poised to challenge Thailand for the championship title.
The schedule for Vietnam’s matches in the first leg of the SEA V.League features three games, all taking place at the prime time of 7 PM. Vietnam will face the Philippines on August 2, Indonesia on August 3, and Thailand on August 4. These matches are highly anticipated as they will determine the early leaders of the tournament.
