On the evening of August 16, Nam Dinh FC announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Caio César. The experienced player has a rich background, having competed in both Serie B and Serie A, Brazil’s top football leagues. He is also no stranger to Asian football, having previously played for Kawasaki Frontale and V-Varen Nagasaki in Japan.
The addition of Caio César is expected to significantly strengthen Nam Dinh FC’s midfield, particularly as the club prepares for the AFC Champions League Two (Asian Cup C2) 2024/2025. According to Transfermarkt, Caio César is valued at €600,000.
Under the new regulations, the 2024/2025 AFC Champions League Two will not impose a limit on the number of foreign players each team can register. Taking advantage of this rule, Nam Dinh FC has actively recruited additional foreign players to ensure squad depth for the continental competition, even though the team is still restricted to using only three foreign players in the V-League.
With the latest addition of Caio César, Nam Dinh FC now has six foreign players on its roster. In addition to retaining key players Rafaelson, Lucas, and Hendrio, the reigning V-League champions have successfully signed center-back Walber Motta, versatile player Joseph Mpande, and now, midfielder Caio César.
This aggressive recruitment strategy underscores Nam Dinh FC’s ambition to compete at a high level in both domestic and continental competitions. Fans are eagerly anticipating how these new signings will integrate into the team and contribute to the club’s performance in the upcoming season.
