In a strategic move ahead of the 2024/2025 V-League season, Hanoi FC has successfully acquired the services of Dutch midfielder Keziah Veendorp. The 26-year-old player, valued at approximately €450,000, brings with him significant experience and a strong footballing pedigree, making him a valuable addition to the Hanoi FC squad. This acquisition underscores Hanoi FC’s ambition to maintain their competitive edge in Vietnamese football.
Veendorp, who stands at an impressive height of 1.87 meters, began his football journey in the Netherlands, where he represented the national team at various youth levels, including U16, U17, and U18. One of the highlights of his early career came in 2014 when he captained the Dutch U17 team at the UEFA European Under-17 Championship. During this tournament, he played alongside prominent Dutch talents like Donny van de Beek and Steven Bergwijn, helping the team advance to the final. His leadership and defensive skills were on full display, marking him as a standout player among his peers.
Following his success at the youth level, Veendorp spent most of his professional career with FC Emmen, competing in the Dutch Eredivisie. Over his time at Emmen, he made 173 appearances, showcasing his versatility and reliability by contributing three goals and providing ten assists from his midfield position. His performances in the Eredivisie helped him develop into a well-rounded player, capable of both defending and contributing to his team’s offensive plays.
In a bid to explore new challenges, Veendorp made the decision to move to India, joining Bengaluru FC for the 2023/2024 season. His stint in the Indian Super League provided him with valuable experience in adapting to different styles of play and competitive environments. Now, as he joins Hanoi FC, Veendorp is set to bring his international experience and robust midfield presence to Vietnamese football.
Upon his arrival in Hanoi, Veendorp chose to wear the number 3 jersey, a symbolic choice reflecting his role as a key defensive midfielder. Expressing his enthusiasm for joining Hanoi FC, Veendorp stated, “I am very excited about this new chapter in my career. Playing abroad has always been an enriching experience, and I look forward to making a significant contribution to the success of Hanoi FC.”
Veendorp also mentioned that through conversations with friends and teammates, he learned about Hanoi FC’s consistent goal of competing for championships. “I know that the club sets high standards and aims for the title every season. This ambition aligns perfectly with my personal goals and motivates me to work hard every day,” he added.
