The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has officially confirmed the schedule for the AFF Cup 2024, with the opening match set for December 8, and the second leg of the final scheduled for January 5, 2025.
The tournament will feature 10 teams, divided into two groups. Group A includes Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, and the winner of the qualifying match between Brunei and Timor Leste. Group B consists of Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Laos.
The tournament will kick off on December 8, with two matches in Group A: Cambodia will face Malaysia, while Thailand will take on the winner of the qualifier between Timor Leste and Brunei.
Vietnam’s national team will begin their campaign on December 9 with an away match against Laos. Following this opener, Vietnam will play Indonesia on December 15 at home, face the Philippines on December 18 away, and conclude the group stage against Myanmar on December 21 at home. The group stage will officially wrap up on December 21.
The semi-finals will take place shortly after the group stage. The first leg of the semi-finals is scheduled for December 26 and 27, with the return legs set for December 29 and 30. The two-leg final will see the first match played on January 2, 2025, and the decisive second leg on January 5, 2025.
Ahead of the main event, Brunei and Timor Leste will compete for the last spot in the tournament. The first leg of the qualifying play-off will be held on October 8, with the return leg scheduled for October 15.
