Quang Nam FC parts ways with 16 players simultaneously

Quang Nam FC, which finished 11th in the V-League 2023/2024 season, is undergoing a significant reshuffle as it prepares for the 2024/2025 campaign. The team, led by head coach Van Sy Son, had just returned to Vietnam’s top football league last season, where they faced numerous challenges before ultimately securing their spot in the league.

However, in a surprising move, Quang Nam FC has decided to part ways with a substantial number of players during the summer transfer window. According to the latest transfer news, the club has announced the departure of 16 players ahead of the new season.

In their official statement, Quang Nam FC expressed gratitude towards the players who have left, saying: “Quang Nam FC would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the contributions and dedication of defenders Mach Ngoc Ha, Nguyen Van Ngoc, Mac Duc Viet Anh, Nguyen Tang Tien, Cao Xuan Thang, Nguyen Tien Duy, Nguyen Vu Hoang Duong, Stephen Eze; midfielders Nguyen Van Ka, Nguyen Dinh Manh, Truong Quoc Minh, Le Hai Duc, Le Xuan Tu; and forwards Le Van Nam, Paulo Conrado, and Yago Ramos for their time with the Quang Nam team. We wish you all good health, luck, and success in your future endeavors.”

The decision to release 16 players has come as a shock to Quang Nam’s supporters, especially given that two of the key foreign players, Stephen Eze and Yago Ramos, performed admirably in the 2023/2024 season. Yago Ramos has already signed with Thanh Hoa FC, while Stephen Eze has moved to India to continue his football career.

Despite these departures, Quang Nam FC showed resilience and potential in the 2024 pre-season, as they clinched the title at the Thien Long Tournament with nine points, outperforming teams like Da Nang and Ha Tinh. This success in the friendly tournament suggests that the team is adapting well to the changes and is ready to compete effectively in the upcoming V-League season.

The extensive squad overhaul indicates that Quang Nam FC is looking to rebuild and strengthen its lineup. The team’s management and coaching staff will need to work diligently to integrate new talents and ensure a cohesive unit that can compete at the highest level. The upcoming season will be a crucial test of the club’s strategic vision and their ability to adapt to the evolving dynamics of Vietnamese football.
