Nam Dinh strengthens their squad after the naturalization of Xuan Son

Nam Dinh FC has strengthened their squad with the addition of a new foreign player after Nguyen Xuan Son (formerly Rafaelson) completed his naturalization process.

After missing the first round of V-League 2024/2025, Nguyen Xuan Son finalized his paperwork to officially play as a domestic player for Nam Dinh. Xuan Son quickly made an impact, providing an assist to Hendrio, leading to a 1-0 victory over Quang Nam in the second round.

With Xuan Son now playing as a naturalized player, Nam Dinh FC gained an additional spot to register a foreign player.

Recently, Nam Dinh filled this slot by signing Moses Odo, a Nigerian forward born in 1997. Standing at 1.83 meters, Odo is known for his physicality, positioning, and finishing abilities, qualities that resemble those of Xuan Son.

Before joining Nam Dinh, Moses Odo played for clubs in Iraq, China, and Nigeria. He is expected to be a key player in bolstering Nam Dinh’s attacking strength, especially as they compete in the AFC Champions League Two.

Given their commitments in continental competition, Nam Dinh FC requires a deep squad to avoid over-exerting their players. With the V-League already underway and an average of one match every four days leading up to the international break, squad rotation will be essential for maintaining performance across both domestic and international fixtures.
