On the afternoon of October 11, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) issued a disciplinary notice fining Hoang Anh Gia Lai ahead of the V.League 1’s return.
According to the VFF’s disciplinary committee, Hoang Anh Gia Lai was fined 2,000,000 VND for having five individuals penalized with yellow cards during their match against Da Nang on October 3, 2024, in Round 4 of the LP BankV.League 1 – 2024/25.
In the match at Hoa Xuan Stadium, three Hoang Anh Gia Lai players – Tran Thanh Son, Dung Quang Nho, and Nguyen Thanh Nhan – received yellow cards. Additionally, Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh and Assistant Coach Bui Van Nam were reprimanded for their excessive reactions toward the referee.
The match was tense, with referee Tran Ngoc Anh allowing a controversial goal from Hoang Anh Gia Lai even after consulting VAR. Hoang Anh Gia Lai also claimed that referee Anh missed several incidents of aggressive challenges from Da Nang players. In this encounter, Da Nang had three individuals receiving yellow cards as well – Dang Anh Tuan, Nguyen Hong Son, and Assistant Coach Tran Van Tho.
HAGL will return to V-League action in a top-of-the-table clash against Thanh Hoa on home turf on October 26. This matchup will feature two teams currently leading the LP BankV.League 1 – 2024/25 standings.
