Vietnam national futsal team recently completed a productive training camp in Thailand, achieving two impressive victories in friendly matches. Under the guidance of head coach Diego Giustozzi, the team defeated Hongyen Thakam and the Australian futsal team with scores of 6-4 and 5-3, respectively.
These matches provided a valuable testing ground for Giustozzi to experiment with offensive strategies and refine the team’s formation. Additionally, they offered the players an opportunity to adapt to high-intensity gameplay and pressure, setting a strong foundation for the team as they prepare for the Southeast Asian Futsal Championship. The team heads into the tournament with high spirits and a strong commitment to success.
On October 30, head coach Diego Giustozzi finalized the 14-player roster for the 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship. Two players had to part ways with the team: goalkeeper Tran Van Luong and ala Ngo Ngoc Son. Although Tran Van Luong has shown remarkable improvement, he couldn’t yet compete for a spot against more experienced goalkeepers like Ho Van Y and Pham Van Tu. Meanwhile, veteran ala Ngo Ngoc Son suffered an unfortunate injury, preventing him from participating in the tournament.
These strategic selections and recent game experience ensure that the team enters the championship prepared and motivated, ready to face the region’s best.
