Player suffers cardiac arrest in the national third division

During a National Third Division match on November 5, a player from Dao Ha Football Center, Dang Tien Luc, suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital after collapsing on the field during the game against Quang Ninh at Thanh Tri Stadium.

In the 80th minute of the match, Tien Luc, wearing jersey number 68, fell unconscious without any physical contact with other players. Immediately, players from both teams called for a halt to the game and requested medical assistance.

After approximately three minutes, medical staff successfully stabilized Tien Luc and transported him to the hospital for intensive care. According to doctors, he experienced a temporary cardiac arrest due to prolonged overexertion. Prior to losing consciousness, Tien Luc had been on the field for 80 continuous minutes. Reports suggest that he has a history of heart irregularities and had previously suffered from cardiac arrest, yet he was still registered to play for Dao Ha Football Center in the 2024 National Third Division.

Dao Ha Football Center is a semi-professional team owned and managed by the center of the same name, based in Vinh Phuc province. The team competes exclusively in the Third Division and has never advanced to the Second Division. This year, they participated with the aim of gaining experience and learning from the competition.

The match concluded with Quang Ninh defeating Dao Ha 6-1. Quang Ninh, which was re-established earlier this year, aims to ascend three tiers within two years to re-enter Vietnam’s professional football landscape.

After five rounds in Group A, Quang Ninh is currently leading the standings, while Dao Ha finds itself at the bottom. The 2024 National Third Division has two rounds remaining, with the top two teams from both Group A and Group B, along with the third-placed team with the best performance, earning promotion.
