Vietnam volleyball star makes a significant impact in the European Cup

Vietnamese volleyball star Tran Thi Thanh Thuy delivered a crucial performance for Turkish club Kuzeyboru, securing a 3-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the CEV Cup (European Volleyball Cup) on November 6. Her impactful play helped Kuzeyboru claim an essential win in Europe’s prestigious competition.

Kuzeyboru started the match evenly matched with Dinamo Zagreb, splitting the first two sets 1-1. Thanh Thuy did not start but was brought in during the third set, and her presence immediately strengthened the team. Her contributions were vital as Kuzeyboru dominated the set with a 25-12 score, showcasing her adaptability and skill.

Thanh Thuy continued to play through the fourth set, where her defense, reception, and attack played a significant role in maintaining Kuzeyboru’s momentum. The 27-year-old outside hitter synchronized well with her teammates and the setter, consistently providing strong support that helped secure the set at 25-16. Kuzeyboru emerged victorious with a final score of 3-1 over Dinamo Zagreb.

In a highlight moment, Thanh Thuy scored the decisive point for Kuzeyboru with a powerful down-the-line spike, demonstrating her high reach and accuracy, sealing the match in style.

Following this CEV Cup triumph, Thanh Thuy and her Kuzeyboru teammates will return to Turkey to resume the Turkish National League over the weekend before traveling to Croatia for the second leg against Dinamo Zagreb next week.
