Coach Pham Anh Tuan resigns amid Song Lam Nghe An’s struggles in V.League 1 – 2024/2025

Coach Pham Anh Tuan has officially stepped down as head coach of Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) following the team’s disappointing performance in the 2024/2025 V-League season. The club announced on November 11, 2024, that Coach Pham Anh Tuan had requested to resign from his position, and his decision has been approved by the club’s management.

SLNA released a statement confirming the departure: “On November 11, 2024, respecting his personal wishes, Coach Pham Anh Tuan has resigned from the position of head coach at Song Lam Nghe An. The club management has accepted his request. We extend our gratitude and appreciation for his contributions to the first team during his tenure.”

This move comes as little surprise given SLNA’s ongoing struggles this season. After seven rounds, the team from Nghe An has accumulated just four points, without a single win, and currently sits at the bottom of the league standings. Last season, Coach Pham Anh Tuan successfully guided SLNA to safety. However, the summer transfer window of 2024 saw no significant signings, leaving the club’s squad strength largely unchanged, which has impacted the team’s performance.

SLNA has yet to announce a replacement for Pham Anh Tuan. The club is currently evaluating potential candidates who could lead the team through the remainder of the season and work towards improving their standing in the league.
