After Round 9 of LP Bank V.League 1 – 2024/2025, Vietnam national football team will begin its preparations for the ASEAN Cup 2024. According to the plan, the players will have one day to spend with their families before gathering for an intensive training period ahead of the crucial tournament.
The team, under the guidance of coach Kim Sang Sik, is scheduled to have just one training session in Vietnam on the morning of November 22. This session will serve as an opportunity for the players to acclimate to the national team environment after their time playing at the club level.
In the early hours of November 23, Vietnam national team will depart for South Korea, where they will undergo a lengthy training camp. During their stay in South Korea, the team is expected to play two friendly matches, which will allow the coaching staff to assess the team’s technical and tactical progress and address any weaknesses ahead of the tournament.
Vietnam will open their campaign at the ASEAN Cup 2024 with an away match against Laos on December 9. Following that, the team will face Indonesia (December 15), the Philippines (December 18), and Myanmar (December 21) in the group stages.
The Vietnam national football team is aiming for a spot in the final of the ASEAN Cup 2024. Their most recent victory in the competition came in 2018 when they lifted the trophy.
