On November 30th, the Vietnam national football team conducted a recovery session and continued refining their tactical strategies in preparation for their upcoming friendly match against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. However, the training session was not without its challenges, as head coach Kim Sang Sik introduced tasks that left many players visibly struggling.
The South Korean coach has been known for his high standards, and his drills today were no exception. The players were pushed to their physical limits as they worked on their recovery and tactical understanding. However, towards the end of the session, Coach Kim lightened the mood by introducing a fun crossbar challenge, where players attempted to hit the crossbar from distance. This light-hearted competition helped the team relax and maintain morale as they continued their hard work.
The friendly match against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors is scheduled for 12:00 PM (Vietnam time) on December 1st. This will be the final match of Vietnam’s training camp in South Korea. Following this, the team will have two more days of training before returning home on December 4th.
Upon their return, Vietnam will welcome players from Nam Dinh FC, who will join the squad after completing their final group-stage match in the AFC Champions League Two 2024/2025 against Bangkok United on December 4th.
The Vietnam national team is in Group B of the ASEAN Cup 2024, where they will face Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar. The first match will take place on December 8th, as Vietnam travels to Laos for their opening fixture. Subsequently, they will meet Indonesia on December 15th, the Philippines on December 18th, and Myanmar on December 21st.
With high hopes for the tournament, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his squad aim to build on their preparation and secure a strong start to the competition.
