On the morning of December 6, the Vietnam national football team departed from Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) to Vientiane, Laos, to commence their AFF Cup 2024 campaign. By noon, Coach Kim Sang-sik and his squad arrived in the Laotian capital, where they were greeted with enthusiasm by members of the Vietnamese community in Vientiane.
Supporters, dressed in red and yellow flag-themed attire and equipped with cheering instruments, created a lively and heartfelt atmosphere to welcome the team. The vibrant reception showcased the strong support of overseas Vietnamese for their national team.
After the warm welcome, the team left the airport and headed to their hotel to settle in and prepare for the tournament. Later in the afternoon, Quang Hai and his teammates conducted their first training session on Laotian soil. This session also marked the first practice for Nam Dinh FC players Nguyen Xuan Son, Nguyen Van Toan, and Nguyen Van Vi, who joined the squad on the evening of December 5.
Vietnam is set to face Laos in their opening match of the AFF Cup 2024 on December 9 at 8:00 PM at the Laos National Stadium. The team’s objective is clear: secure three points to kick off their campaign on a high note.
