
The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has officially announced the draw date for the 2025 Women’s Volleyball World Championship. The draw will take place on December 15, 2024, in Thailand.
This prestigious event will feature 32 teams, including the Vietnam Women’s Volleyball Team, divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each. As the host, Thailand will automatically occupy the A1 position. The draw will have no geographical restrictions, meaning teams from the same continent may be drawn into the same group.
Apart from Vietnam, the 31 other participating teams include: Thailand (host), Serbia (defending champion), Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Kenya, Egypt, Cameroon, Turkey, Netherlands, Italy, Dominican Republic, USA, Canada, China, Japan, Poland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Puerto Rico, Ukraine, France, Bulgaria, Cuba, Sweden, Mexico, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Greece, and Germany.
The 2025 Women’s Volleyball World Championship will run from August 22 to September 7, 2025, across four cities in Thailand: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Nakhon Ratchasima. This tournament is among the most prestigious in women’s volleyball, alongside the Volleyball Nations League.
Vietnam’s participation marks a significant milestone, showcasing the country’s growing prominence on the international volleyball stage. Fans eagerly await the draw to see which teams Vietnam will face in their group stage matches.
