The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has officially announced the referee team for the upcoming match between the Philippines and Vietnam in the 2024 ASEAN Cup. The main referee for the fixture will be Akobirxuja Shukurullaev from Uzbekistan.

Supporting Shukurullaev will be two assistant referees, Andrey Tsapenko and Timur Gaynulin, both also from Uzbekistan. The fourth official for the match is Warintorn Sassadee from Thailand.

Akobirxuja Shukurullaev, born in 1994, is a FIFA-certified referee from Uzbekistan. However, this will be his first match officiating at the international national team level. Before this, Shukurullaev primarily officiated domestic matches in Uzbekistan and began officiating matches in the AFC Champions League Two 2024/2025 earlier this year.

The critical Group B clash between the Philippines and Vietnam will take place at 8 PM on December 18. A victory in this match will secure Vietnam’s position at the top of Group B. Even with a draw, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s team would hold a 90% chance of progressing to the semi-finals.

Vietnam will mathematically secure a spot in the semi-finals if they avoid defeat against the Philippines and Myanmar fails to win against Laos, as the latter match will also take place on the same day.

This pivotal encounter will be covered live, with Vietnam Sports News providing a direct updates and commentary for fans eager to follow the match. Vietnam’s strong performance so far under Coach Kim Sang Sik adds to the anticipation, as they aim to maintain their unbeaten run and edge closer to the ASEAN Cup 2024 semi-finals.
