Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho Province is set to undergo upgrades to meet international standards, with plans to increase its seating capacity to 30,000–35,000 by 2025.
On January 15, Bui Van Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Phu Tho People’s Committee, met with Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), to review the organization of ASEAN Cup 2024 matches held at Viet Tri Stadium and to discuss collaboration plans for 2025.
During ASEAN Cup 2024, Phu Tho successfully hosted Vietnam’s home matches, meeting all requirements for facilities, technical equipment, security, and medical services in accordance with regulations set by the VFF and the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The event drew significant attention, with over 70,000 fans and tourists attending the matches, 12,000 overnight stays, and an estimated tourism revenue of VND 50 billion.

For 2025, Phu Tho aims to upgrade its sports facilities to international standards and strengthen its youth football training system. A key focus will be the renovation of the Viet Tri Stadium and the Phu Tho Sports Complex, with plans to expand the stadium’s seating capacity to accommodate 30,000–35,000 spectators.
This development is exciting news for Vietnamese football fans, especially those in Phu Tho Province. The expanded and improved facilities will allow more fans to attend matches and show their support, fostering a vibrant and energetic atmosphere at games.
