
The Vietnam Women’s Futsal team entered their opening match in Group D with confidence, asserting dominance right after the kickoff. In the second minute, a well-executed corner kick by Tran Thuy Thi Trang set up K’Thua for a spectacular strike to open the scoring at 1-0 for the red-clad team.
The early lead boosted the morale of coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang’s players, who maintained pressure on their opponents and extended the lead effortlessly. Phuong Anh and Thu Xuan added two more goals, bringing the score to 2-0 and 3-0, respectively.
Despite conceding multiple goals, the Myanmar Women’s Futsal team remained composed, attempting to reorganize their defense. They managed to pull one back through Ya Min Thant Zin, narrowing the gap to 3-1. However, this was their only highlight of the match.
By the 14th minute, the Vietnamese team struck again as Phuong Anh netted her second goal, increasing the lead to 4-1. K’Thua later sealed the game with her second goal, completing a commanding 5-1 victory for Vietnam. This resounding win earned coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his squad a crucial three points in their opening match.
Elsewhere in Group D, the Chinese Taipei Women’s Futsal team delivered an emphatic statement with an 18-0 victory over the Macau Women’s Futsal team. With this result, Chinese Taipei currently tops the group standings on goal difference despite sharing three points with Vietnam.
Looking ahead, Vietnam will face the Macau Women’s Futsal team at 2:30 PM on January 17, followed by a critical match against Chinese Taipei on January 19, which could determine the group leader.
